The Hiddink revivial continues.
Chelsea are favourites now in a tie which is destined to be tight.
Having said that, though, Juventus will be happy enough with that result, but if Chelsea score first in Turin, they will have some problems.

Drogba after goal

The Tinkerer returned to Stamford Bridge and received a good welcome. Many forget that Chelsea were against an average Monaco side in the Champions League semi-final with Ranieri. Should they have won that one, they would have faced Mourinho’s Porto in the fianl. That would have been interesting, eh?
Drogba and Anelka started up front togethor again, and Drogba was the outstanding one tonight, making the Juventus defenders wince with every touch. He should have had at least two tonight, Drogba. Hiddink will be pleased by the performance.
Juventus could have had equalisers through Del Peiro and Nedved, as it was not the white-wash that Manchester United put on Inter for the majority of last night.

It is in Chelsea’s hands in the leg, but surely they should get through.

But after the half-time, with Heskey change, England started play better, maybe strong Capello’s words on players also played the role.

In conclusion, England as a team too far from the shape, and to reach finals should start work harder and smarter.

The ball has been engineered to set new performance standards for consistency, accuracy and visibility, having been tested and proven over two years – in computer simulations, in Nike research labs, and with some of the world’s biggest clubs and best players.

Its new, innovative panel geometry is designed to give players consistent response and touch wherever they strike the ball. Engineered hexagons and pentagons fit precisely together to create a nearly perfect sphere. The patent-pending design distributes pressure more evenly across panels and all around the ball to create what the engineers are calling a “360-Degree Sweet Spot.”

It is more predictable and more powerful wherever it is hit. Significantly, players say it gives them added confidence when they approach the ball.

Nike’s answer to shots and passes that drift off their intended mark is an exclusive, aerodynamic micro-grooved PU casing. It was developed in the wind tunnel, and designed to fly faster and truer to the target.

To help players make better split-second judgments, Nike introduced performance graphics and colour to the game in the original Total 90 Ball. The new ball takes the idea to the next level. A new, red asymmetrical band encircling the ball generates a more powerful visual signal as it rotates, providing a quicker read on ball location, spin rate, speed and trajectory from any angle. It is designed to help players make better decisions at top-speed, when the pressure is on.

“Nike strives to improve the game for both elite athletes and everyday football players. The original Total 90 Football pioneered the concept of performance graphics,” said Nike’s Football Design Director, Tom De Blasis.

“Each generation of Total 90 Balls has reset the benchmark, and the Total 90 Omni demonstrates Nike’s pioneering design once again.”

Nike has been the official ball supplier to the Barclays Premier League since the 2000/2001 season.
